Once thought of as remote settings, Huay Yai and Ban Amphur and increased massively in popularity in the last few years. The area ticks all the boxes for families for so many reasons, the area has now become one of the most sorts after by expats and their families. There are some stunning villages in the area that represent superb value for money. The area has so much to offer regardless of your interests, so here are just six reasons why people choose to live in the Huay Yai and Ban Amphur area.
1. Location
Firstly, the location is perfect for everyone. It is close enough so that you can enjoy everything that the city has to offer, but far enough away that you won’t be disturbed. The transportation links are excellent with the new road to Map Ta Phut, the Highways 7 & 36, and U-Tapao Airport all close by. Supermarkets and other amenities are also easily accessible, making it perfect for working families or even retirees.
2. Beaches
Ban Amphur is home to some of the finest beaches in Chonburi with almost all being quieter than those in Jomtien, Pratamnak or Pattaya. The sands are lined by trees with some shops, restaurants on bars being available on most. There are far fewer hawkers around too, which means that you are rarely disturbed allowing you to relax in peace and enjoy the stunning scenery. All of the beaches are excellent places to view the magnificent sunsets.
3. Restaurants
Ban Amphur is where you will find some of the finest and most exclusive restaurants in Pattaya including The Glasshouse, Rimpha Lapin, and Bacco Beach. In Huay Yai, you will also find a selection of superb restaurants that represent excellent value for money as well as great food. There is also a range of bars which offer food that has a more relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy your food alongside a beer.
4. Water Sports
Ban Amphur is one of the main areas in Pattaya for water sports, mainly due to the cleaner and less crowded waters. Here you can try wakeboarding, windsurfing, and kite-surfing amongst many other available options. Several of the dive schools are based in this area with their boats moored in or around Ocean Marina.
5. Golf Courses
Just as the area is a haven for water sports lovers, Huay and Ban Amphur are also close to several golf courses. The closest is Phoenix Gold Golf Resort which is just a short drive away, making it perfect for golf enthusiasts. It is also relatively easy to get to other superb courses including St. Andrews, Siam Country Club, and Emerald, with plenty of others also being close by.
6. Villages
A few years ago, Huay Yai was one of the up and coming areas of Pattaya with only a small selection of villages to choose from. Now, it is home to some superb luxury villages that are amongst the best in all of Pattaya. They tend to represent better value for money than some of those that would be in what would more traditionally be regarded as East Pattaya. Ban Amphur also has a fine selection of beachfront condos.
