It is surprising how many people overlook the fact that Wongamat and Naklua have some excellent beachfront restaurants; this is without even mentioning the options available at the hotels such as Centara, Long Beach, or The Pullman. Several offer superb views across to Koh Larn, excellent quality food, and value for money. Here are some of the best available, many you may have heard of but been unsure where they were located.

1. The Glass House Silver

The Glass House Silver can be found just in front of the Zire Condo on Naklua Soi 18. It is the sister restaurant of the famous Glass House restaurant in Ban Amphur and offers the same high-quality food. Although it is certainly not cheap, the setting, service, and food more than justify the higher prices. It is extremely popular with Thais which perhaps reinforces just how good it is. Limited parking is available at the Zire, or alternatively, you can get to the restaurant from the beach.

2. Surf & Turf Beach Club

The Surf and Turf Beach Club can be found on Naklua Soi 16 next to the Long Beach hotels. They have a comprehensive menu serving Thai and Western dishes to suit everyone’s tastes. It is an excellent setting and has plenty of parking available which adds to its appeal. Again, the prices are slightly higher, but the quality of the food and service reflects this.

3. Bamboo Beach

Bamboo Beach is very much a Thai style restaurant on Naklua Soi 16, close to Nova Mirage and The Palm. During the high season, it is always full and beach loungers and chairs available to rent. The beach area in front of the restaurant is relatively quiet and clean. The food available is mainly Thai, but some western dishes are available. Everything is cooked fresh, and it is reasonably priced considering its location. Parking is available behind the restaurant.

4. Rim Talay Seafood Restaurant

Rim Talay Seafood Restaurant is situated at the bottom of Soi 18, next to the Centara Grand Mirage Hotel. It is a popular eatery throughout the years, although it perhaps doesn’t enjoy quite the same views as some of the other options. As the name would suggest, they have an extensive seafood menu, although other dishes are available. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. It is another option that represents excellent value for money.

5. Mum Aroi – Naklua

Mum Aroi in Naklua is one of the best-known seafood restaurants at the northern end of town. It can be found at the far end of Naklua Road, past the seafood market and near to Banglamung police station. It is always popular with Thais and is located right on the water’s edge. Some people have criticised the restaurant in the past saying it is has a “canteen feel”, but this is a little harsh. Mum Aroi probably has the most comprehensive menu on the list, and you definitely won’t be disappointed.

6. View D Seafood

View D Seafood is another restaurant located past Naklua Market on the main road. Again it aims more at the Thai market but is often surprisingly quiet. The food is superb, the views are stunning, and it offers excellent value for money. It is a hidden gem, but it is hard to imagine that it will stay hidden for long!
