Wongamat is one of the most exclusive areas of Pattaya with some excellent older, but still very well maintained properties that have direct beachfront access, or if not, are within just a couple of hundred metres. Almost all of these properties are found on either Naklua Soi 16 or Soi 18. Many of these buildings are now over 20 years old but still offer serious competition to some of the newer properties in the area. Here are six of the best.
Low-Rise
View Talay Residence 6
View Talay Residence is a low-rise condo that can be found at the foot of Soi 16 and is around 200 metres back from the beach. The most impressive feature of this building is the size of the rooms, which are considerably larger than any modern buildings. Downstairs you will find and restaurant and poolside bar with the whole building being incredibly well maintained. The only slight problem with this building is traffic due to its direct roadside location.
Nova Mirage
Nova Mirage is a low-rise condo located on Soi 16, close to Park Beach and is a mid-range condo which was one of the first condos built by Nova Group. It is another building that stands out from the crowd, thanks to its Thai Bali design. It has good facilities and is very well managed. At the front of the property, you will find an array of massage shops, a laundry and a hairdresser for your added convenience.
Garden Cliff
The Garden Cliff Condominium, not be confused with the nearby Garden Cliff Hotel, is an upmarket condo located at the far end of Naklua Soi 16 and is in a quiet location on a headland. The units are again larger, and this low-rise property is extremely well maintained with excellent facilities.
High-Rise
Saranchol
Very few people would argue that Saranchol isn’t the most upmarket of the older condos in the area. Standing proudly towards the centre of Wongamat Beach on Soi 18, the property has a wide selection of units available, all of which offer sea views. The facilities would rival any newer condo, and the building is kept in superb condition thanks to the maintenance staff who work tirelessly on a daily basis.
Sky Beach
Sky Beach is now around 25 years old and is situated next to Saranchol. It is a property that stands out from the crowd thanks to its intricate design. Although it doesn’t quite meet the same standards as Saranchol, it is still a superb property with excellent facilities. Thanks to the dedicated teams that work there, many of whom have been their years, the building always looks immaculate.
Park Beach
Park Beach is located on Soi 16 and is the sister condo of Sky Beach and the neighbouring Silver Beach which is perhaps a little unlucky not make our list. The design is almost the same as at Sky Beach and once again, the facilities and the levels of maintenance are outstanding. Downstairs, you will find the popular Leo’s Bar and a restaurant.
