Japanese food is one of the healthiest foods in the world and extremely popular in all Asian cultures. Here in Pattaya, we are blessed several quality Japanese restaurants even though the Japanese contingent isn’t as strong as it was a few years ago, they have still very much left their mark on the city. Japanese restaurants can be found all across the city, but here are seven of our favourites.

Wongamat

Ronin

Ronin can be found on Naklua Soi 16/2 and is an upmarket Japanese restaurant that has managed to amass a substantial following. As they are a first-class restaurant, they only use the finest ingredients from which the chefs create their masterpieces. Although the menu is nowhere near as large as some other alternatives on our list, the quality is certainly comparable, and the presentation is superb. They also have plenty of parking opposite the restaurant which can make it more appealing to those who need to travel.

North Pattaya

Anego

Anego has now moved to Soi 1, Pattaya Beach Road and targets the Japanese market very much. As such, the menu is very authentic and very little English is spoken with the menus all being in Japanese. The food and service are superb, and everything is presented in intricate detail, making the dishes very pleasing on the eye.

Central Pattaya

Tsunami Sushi Buffet

The Tsunami Sushi Buffet is located on Pattaya 3rd Road and is perhaps most famous for their “all you can eat” buffet, which costs just 599 Thai Baht. It is again a good option for those who are less familiar with Japanese food as you can try a variety of dishes. As it is a buffet, the presentation isn’t quite to the standards of some of the other restaurants, although the quality of the food is excellent.

Zen Restaurant

Zen is one of the leading chains serving Japanese cuisine, much like Fuji. The branch in Central Festival is a particular favourite and is always full. They have a comprehensive menu, and the atmosphere is more relaxed than some of the more upmarket restaurants. The food is always consistently good, as you would expect from a chain of restaurants.

South Pattaya

Benihana

The Benihana restaurant is probably the best known of Japanese restaurants in Pattaya and is in the Avani Hotel at Royal Garden Plaza. The restaurant has the most comprehensive menu of all the Japanese restaurants in Pattaya, which, of course, includes sushi bars and teppanyaki tables. The food is created by expert chefs and is exceptionally well presented. If you are new to Japanese food, this is an excellent option as there are so many different things that you can try.

Pratamnak

Chamu Japanese Restaurant

Located in the Royal Cliff Grand Hotel, Chamu is an upmarket and trendy restaurant which serves traditional Japanese food including delicacies such as sashimi. It is a small and intimate restaurant which can only cater for 24 covers at a sitting. The food is of the highest order and magnificently presented.

East Pattaya

Sushi Sushi

Sushi Sushi is located on Soi Khao Talo in East Pattaya. It serves a comprehensive range of sushi dishes that are extremely well presented. All food is prepared fresh each day with top quality ingredients. Their seafood dishes are held in particularly high regard.
