East Pattaya has some excellent restaurants that can easily be forgotten. However, the area has an abundance of upmarket restaurants serving an extensive range of international and Asian cuisine. In Part 1 of our guide, we look at some of the best restaurants in the area.

1. Ristorante da Marco

Often referred to as Marco’s, this is a high-class venue that serves up a delectable range of Swiss and Italian food. The restaurant has a relaxed and homely atmosphere with the food being excellent value. The open kitchen can be very entertaining as well as giving you the chance to learn a few tricks of the trade from the excellent chefs who are hard at work. Marco’s is extremely popular, especially in the high season, so bookings are recommended. The restaurant opens at 5 pm every day except Mondays.

2. Nong Bistro

Up until around a year ago, Nong Bistro was a little known gem in East Pattaya, but it is now well-known throughout the city and not just in East Pattaya. They serve both European and Asian food which of the highest standard thanks to the head chef who has been employed by some of the top establishments in Pattaya. The service is excellent with everyone being knowledgeable about the food and drinks menu.

3. Vientiane Restaurant

The Vientiane Restaurant in East Pattaya is a large family orientated restaurant located just off Soi Nernplabwan and is when known to locals and expats alike. Soft 60s music is playing in the background that helps to create an excellent atmosphere where you can enjoy Laotian, Vietnamese and Thai food. Some western options are available with the prices being in the mid-range bracket.

4. Pepper and Salt

Pepper and Salt is a well-established restaurant that is situated on Soi Khao Talo. It is a Dutch-owned restaurant that serves predominantly European dishes with a selection of Thai food also available. The restaurant is well laid out to create a great atmosphere while also ensuring privacy. The quality of the food is excellent with the quality and service also being of a high calibre.

5. Livv Finest Food & Drink

Livv is a fine food restaurant which is again located on Soi Khao Talo and is excellent value of money. The food is top drawer, with an extensive drinks menu. The atmosphere would be described as fined but still very relaxed, and all the staff are very knowledgeable about the foods and are happy to make suggestions for accompanying drinks.

6. Alter Wirt

Alter Wirt can be found on Soi Khao Noi and is an excellent German restaurant with a friendly and relaxed ambience. The food is mainly German, but other European and Thai dishes are available. The food is prepared fresh, but in a minimal amount of time so if you want the quality food, but you are in a rush, this could be the place for you.

7. Ticino Garden Restaurant

Ticino is an upmarket restaurant with the owners coming from Ticino in Switzerland. Few restaurants in Pattaya can compete with the surroundings, and the atmosphere is again friendly and relaxed. The food is sensational, but the prices also reflect this.
